I'm redecorating my room. I need ideas for any themes anybody has...?
I'm a teenager, I'm not interested in anything having to do with the beach, and I'm on a low budget, so I can't really get any new furniture, however I am getting a new bed, a twin size with a shelf headboard. If you can, would you include in your description if I should get a wood, white, etc. one?
P = I can paint it
The furniture right now includes...
1. a light wooden bookcase that is about two feet from the ceiling
2. A desk that is of the same color and has several paint stains on it =( (Any improvement ideas?)
P 3. A large even lighter wood corner armoire
P 4. A white wicker dresser with an aquarium on top of it (No room for anything else)
P 5. One storage unit shaped like a digital 8 (Meaning one square with another one on top).
6. A light blue beanbag chair (square).
I know I'm being specific, but any help would be thankful to those of you who took time to read this! (lol we're probably similar, nothing to do with our time but go on yahoo answers. =) )
I've also got a two sliding-door mirror closet, and two windows, if it helps at all.
Hm... They sound good and everything, but nothing's really peaking my interest. A friend of mine has a beach theme (hence the reason I don't want it to be beach)... I'm looking for something that's bright and I'll look forward to coming home to simply for the reason to hang out in. So CALLING ALL INTERIOR DESIGNERS (And such... =) )

The best way to unify a room is with paint. Go to paint store and ask for their unclaimed paint and see if there is a color you like or if they can mix some of it for a funky fun color and paint all your furniture the same color.
If all your furniture is wood. try striping (Taking all the paint or stain off) and stain a new color.
Another way is to use découpage. Get some fun wraping paper plain or with pattern (butterflies, stripes, paisley) and varnish and apply to wooden or plastic surfaces to cover all furniture.
Next the walls and window covering. You can use existing curtains and liquid dye to change the color of them. Follow instructions.
Next is the bedding. If you cannot afford a new comforter get two flat sheets and sew together on 3 sides and insert comforter. Next use buttons or sew on ties to tie the ends together.
Try going to a thrift store or the clearance aisles of any story.
Be creative..
Good Luck.

Well, since you already have a white dresser, get a gallon of semi gloss white paint & paint the rest of your furniture to match. Everything will look like it goes together, & white goes with everything. Then go to this site, there are tons of themed rooms to look at, and maybe you can find one you like that you can copy cheap.
